A Creative Person

My story isn't typical, and I understand that a quick review of my resume will leave many wondering why this person has so many differing accomplishments. Throughout my theological training and my business career, one thing has stayed consistent, in that I have always needed a creative outlet to express something different than "I excel in academics" or "I have a great business mind." I've needed to create in music, graphics and film. And through all of it, found my closest of friends who I consider family. So I've kept that part of me in focus here and one that continues to drive me in the future. I am always learning new things and the technology that keeps me most engaged is the new technology that inspires me to create.

Creative Accomplishments

2010 - 2022

2008 - 2010

2007

As Lumascope Productions came to an end, I found myself assisting a number of local small businesses with their Websites, graphics, social media and video marketing. This quickly grew to support itself as my primary side-hustle as SKYMO Design agency came to life as a means to keep my creative side satisfied.

While continuing to write our next feature film, I started an event production company called Three Ring Productions, to shoot live events such as bands and weddings to help pay for the costs of computer and filming equipment. During this time, I learned a great deal about essential production and faster turnarounds in editing.

In 2007, Seventy-Two Square Feet was accepted into the Kansas City Filmmaker's Jubilee as the Heartland Feature Film of the Year.

2006

2005

2004

As Lumascope Productions, in 2006 I was the Director of Photography on a feature film shot in Excelsior Springs, Missouri called The Greater Dark. Soon after in the Fall of 2007, we began the shooting of our own feature film, Seventy-Two Square Feet.

Pushing the limits of our creativity as Lumascope Productions, my cousin and I shot an edgy but artistic film called "Wax" to premiere in the 2005 Kansas City Jubilee. Lumascope went on to produce several of our most enjoyable short films, including The Honet Spooklight, Holden Confessions and Kiss & Tell.

Prior to 2004, my cousin and I were in a band and when it ended, there was a creative hole we both acknowledged. It wasn't long when I recommended we start making movies. And within a year we won first place in the Kansas City Independent Coalition's Every Picture Tells A Story competition for a film called Searching for Sage.

Later that same year, "The Garden Ring," a short film was accepted in the Kansas City Filmmakers Jubilee, as we founded Lumascope Productions.
